Welcome to the official website of the Kennebec Valley District!

The Kennebec Valley District, which is located in the State of Maine, serves all of Franklin, Kennebec, and Somerset Counties along with small portions of Lincoln County (town of Somerville) and Androscoggin County (towns of Livermore and Livermore Falls). It is an area that contains over 6300 square miles (a space larger than the whole state of Connecticut) and is home to more than 200,000 people.

Coming from a variety of backgrounds, our Scouts live in some of the most scenic areas of Maine. Access to wilderness areas is never difficult for any of our Scout troops. We thrive on the outdoor experience.

We have a successful Scouting program in our District due in part to the large number of adult leaders that dedicate themselves to ensuring every boy has an opportunity to experience Scouting and are given the tools with which to maximize their experience and achieve their full potential.

If you are between the ages of 7 and 21, and you live in any of the counties listed below (or any of the towns that reside within them) then you reside in our District and you are invited to join one of the many Scouting programs we offer. We also invite parents and any interested adults to join us and become a Scouting volunteer. Scouting offers a time-tested set of activities that have produced fine citizens, strong family members, and community leaders for more than 90 years.

Androscogin

Franklin
TOWNS: Avon, Carrabassett Valley, Carthage, Chesterville, Eustis, Farmington, Industry, Jay, Kingfield, Madrid, New Sharon, New Vineyard, Phillips, Rangeley, Strong, Temple, Weld and Wilton.
PLANTATIONS: Coplin, Dallas, Rangeley and Sandy River.

Kennebec
CITIES: Augusta, Gardiner, Hallowell and Waterville.
TOWNS: Albion, Belgrade, Benton, Chelsea, China, Clinton, Farmingdale, Fayette, Litchfield, Manchester, Monmouth, Mount Vernon, Oakland, Pittston, Randolph, Readfield, Rome, Sidney, Vassalboro, Vienna, Wayne, West Gardiner, Windsor, Winslow and Winthrop.
